George Soros has been a favorite target of right-wing conspiracy theorists, with some accusing him of having a secret agenda to destabilize the United States government.
Recently, Soros has been accused of being the hidden hand behind some of the opposition to Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination.
He’s also been baselessly accused of helping to create the caravan of Central Americans making their way toward the U.S.
The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force is now investigating if the billionaire philanthropist and political activist was a target after an employee at his Bedford home Monday afternoon discovered a package with an explosive device inside.

Scott Richman, regional director of the American Jewish Committee in White Plains, says a lot of the rhetoric surrounding the criticism of George Soros has been anti-Semitic.

Richman says Soros’ donations to Democratic candidates and progressive causes have raised a lot of rhetoric.
"He's an Eastern European, Hungarian, Holocaust survivor, made a lot of money and he's been using his money to promote Democracy," says Richman. "When that rises to the level of violence, that's really another step, and very, very disturbing."
