Orange County marijuana dispensary Curaleaf seeks to start delivery service

A cannabis dispensary in Orange County is looking to become the GrubHub of medical marijuana for patients across the Hudson Valley.
The Curaleaf cannibas dispensary is looking to start home delivery of medical marijuana from its headquarters in Newburgh to seven counties in the Hudson Valley, including Westchester, Orange and Rockland, starting next month.
They say it could cost patients around $20.

Recipients have to be certified with the state and have a medical marijuana card.

Curaleaf pharmacist Teena Varghese says no other dispensary in the Hudson Valley offers home delivery, meaning thousands of patients could benefit.

Patients can pay for their marijuana delivery using a new app called CanPay that links their smartphones with their checking accounts.

In the six months that Curaleaf has been open, it has serviced more than 3,000 patients. It expects that number to significantly increase once it starts home delivery.

According to New York statistics, there are more than 76,000 medical marijuana patients certified with the state.
