MOUNT VERNON -

A convicted felon from Mount Vernon has been found guilty of attempted rape.

A jury convicted Thomas Jessamy, 58, on four charges including first-degree attempted rape.

The Westchester County District Attorney's Office says in 2017, Jessamy invited the victim to his apartment on South Tenth Avenue, where he beat her and tried to rape her. The victim suffered multiple injuries, including a fractured rib and head trauma.

The 58-year-old now faces up to 15 years in prison when he's sentenced in December.

Jessamy has already spent almost four years in prison for previous charges including assault.
