Record-setting win leaves Cuomo supporters wondering if presidential run is nextPosted: Updated:
With a sizable victory in the New York governor's race, presidential chatter for Gov. Andrew Cuomo is starting up all over again.
Cuomo defeated Marc Molinaro for his third term in office Tuesday. With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Cuomo defeated his Republican opponent by over 22 percentage points.
Cuomo's victorious campaign also garnered the most votes for any governor in New York State history.
After a short victory speech where he took aim at President Donald Trump several times, it left some wondering if he is seeking the nation's highest office in 2020.
Cuomo has repeatedly said he has no intention to seek higher office. He appeared on a radio show Wednesday morning and said nothing on the topic, thanking voters instead.
Some Cuomo supporters say his margin of victory shows that he could make a run for the presidency.
