Football players from White Plains and New Rochelle teamed up Thursday to help those in need in Westchester.
Dozens of the rival athletes came together at Feeding Westchester in Elmsford. They unloaded 1,000 turkeys for families who otherwise would not have the Thanksgiving staple for the holiday.
The turkey distribution is part of Stop and Shop's Turkey Express program, which delivers more than 22,000 turkeys to hunger relief organizations throughout the area.
According to Feeding Westchester, approximately 200,000 Westchester residents are at risk of hunger.
