Trumbull selectman says violence won’t be tolerated after park attack

Police say a Trumbull man was attacked Saturday afternoon while walking through Twin Brooks Park and Trumbull’s first selectman Vicki Tesoro says assaults like this one will not be tolerated.
Police say a Hispanic male about 18-20 years old and two other men drove up in an older, gray-colored car with a large rear spoiler and began beating the victim while demanding money.
After the victim told them he had no money, they drove off toward Franklin Street.
Trumbull first selectman Tesoro released a statement Monday about the incident saying, "My heart goes out to the victim.... Public safety is my number one priority,"
People who live near the park say even after what happened they feel safe.
Police say they are following leads and say the victim was injured but will recover
Anyone with information is asked to call Trumbull police.
