Oscar Hernandez has been sentenced to 75 years in prison for killing his girlfriend and stabbing her friend, a judge ruled Tuesday.
Hernandez was previously convicted in the death of Nidia "Juvi" Gonzalez and the attempted murder of Brenda Castellano.
The incident happened in the early morning hours of Feb. 24, 2017 at the couple's home while their daughter was asleep.
Hernandez took off with his daughter and was arrested in Pennsylvania following a high-speed chase.
Hernandez maintained his innocence in court, even blaming his lawyer for his conviction.
The judge said that Hernandez “produced a crime scene so graphic and gory, a movie producer would have problems duplicating it."
In court, Senior Assistant State's Attorney Joseph Corradino said Hernandez has a history of abusing women and that it was critical to keep him locked up for the rest of his life to keep others safe.
The victim's mother and sister also both emotionally addressed the judge, calling her a “fighter” who would do anything for her family.
Hernandez’s attorney said he looks forward to the appeals process.
