A woman walking her dog made a disturbing discovery in Islip when she found multiple decapitated birds in a wooded area.

The woman found five dead quails in the woods behind the Commack Road Elementary School.

"It's very scary and very disheartening to know that somebody could hurt an innocent animal and then just leave it there for anyone to see," Nancy Prior tells News 12. "Kids go back there, there's playgrounds back there, it's the back of the school."
