Neighbors question cause of 2-alarm vacant home fire in Bronxdale

Over 100 first responders battled a fast-moving 2-alarm fire that ripped through the top floor of a Bronxwood Avenue home around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
News 12 The Bronx is told that it took almost two hours to bring the stubborn fire under control.
Fire officials say the corner home was vacant and that no injuries have been reported.
Neighbors say that the home has been vacant for a long time. They say they wonder what could have started the fire, some fearing that trespassers may have been frequenting the building.
"We notice some kids, maybe teenagers trying to get into the house. We know they don't live there, the house has been empty for a long time,” says one neighbor.
The cause of the fire is now pending investigation by the FDNY.
