8-year-old from Haiti gets lifesaving heart surgery on LI

An 8-year-old girl from Haiti underwent lifesaving heart surgery at St. Francis Hospital.
Hamanda was born with one of her heart valves blocked.
Her surgery was made possible thanks to the humanitarian efforts of the Gift of Life organization, students at St. Anthony's High School and other groups.
Dr. Sean Levcheck, a pediatric heart surgeon at St. Francis, has performed many lifesaving procedures on children from around the world, and he does it without compensation.
Hamanda will be able to celebrate this Christmas without feeling tired or short of breath. After the holiday, she'll return to Haiti once her doctors give her the all-clear.
