Hyundai and Kia issue recall on 168K vehicles after engine fires

Hyundai and Kia are moving ahead with a recall of about 168,000 vehicles to fix a problem that can cause engine fires.
News 12 New Jersey Consumer Alert previously reported about dozens of people reporting that their cars spontaneously caught fire. The problem apparently stems from improper repairs during previous recalls for engine failures.
The automakers also began a "service campaign" for over 3 million vehicles.
The Center for Auto Safety had wanted all 3 million vehicles recalled. The group says the companies are taking "the smallest step possible.”
