A Melville man will spend no more than a year in jail for an accident that killed his girlfriend.
Robert Savinetti was on trial for manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.
Prosecutors accuse him of running over and killing Lisa Miceli in 2017 during an argument outside a Seaford bar.
A jury convicted him of a misdemeanor, but found him not guilty of the more serious charges on Friday.
When sentenced , Savinetti faces a maximum of one year behind bars instead of five to 15 years.
