NEW ROCHELLE -

The search has intensified for the killer of the 24-year-old from New Rochelle whose body was found in a suitcase near a Connecticut road Tuesday.

Valerie Reyes, 24, of New Rochelle, was found Tuesday off the east shoulder of Glenville Road, just north of Stillman Lane on the border of Port Chester and Greenwich.

The crime scene was a wooded private area riddled with no trespassing signs, high fences and sprawling homes nestled away from the busy road.

The victim was discovered bound in a suitcase nearly 15 miles from her home. Police collected pieces of what they called physical evidence. An autopsy has been performed.

A town DPW worker has since been placed on administrative leave after it was discovered the employee took photos of the murder victim at the crime scene. The town says they will take appropriate action against the employee after an investigation is completed.

Greenwich police encourage anyone with information to contact them on their tip line at (203) 622-3333.
