Some residents of a building on East 14th Street say they have not gotten their mail at home since October.
Residents say their landlord replaced their mailboxes and the U.S. Postal Service has yet to install new locks. To retrieve their mail, residents say they have had to visit their local post office.
A USPS spokesperson tells News 12 in a statement, in part, "Mailbox installations must adhere to specific postal policy in order for regular service to be established."
In a statement on Wednesday, a USPS spokesperson said the mailboxes were officially in compliance and that a postal lock would soon be installed so that regular delivery service could resume.
