Ardsley accidents initiate push for pedestrian safety measures
Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner is calling on the state to make changes at some crosswalks after several accidents in Ardsley.
“People are in a rush, they are late and this area has a lot of congestion,” says Feiner.
The supervisor is urging the state to hire a traffic consultant who would make changes to the state-operated roads. He hopes to see crossing guards, more signage or traffic lights.
“We don't want to wait until there's a fatality and then everyone says ‘let's act now,’” he says.
On Thursday, a woman was hit outside a Starbucks in downtown Ardsley.
