NYU is expected to announce today the creation of the "NYU Long Island School of Medicine."
The school will have a residency at Winthrop Hospital, according to Newsday.
Students will take classes across the street from Winthrop beginning in July.
It will be tuition free and concentrate on training primary care physicians to fill the shortage of primary care doctors in the U.S.
