Democrats in White Plains have endorsed an all-female slate for the city's Common Council.
The White Plains Democratic City Committee is throwing its support behind current Common Council member Nadine Hunt-Robinson, as well as Jennifer Puja and Victoria Presser for the open seats on the council.

It's believed to be the first all-female slate of candidates ever.
There wasn't much inclusiveness when the city was incorporated back in 1916, but 100 years later in 2016, there were three women on the Common Council.
The nonprofit, nonpartisan League of Women Voters of White Plains issued a statement that reads in part, "The League believes it is vitally important that the candidates reflect the composition of their constituency."
Robinson says all female-slates will soon become common all throughout the United States.
If the endorsed candidates face a primary challenge, that election will be held in June. Otherwise, the vote will be held on Election Day in November.
