Gathering at Riverdale Monument honors lives lost in New Zealand mosque massacre
Community members from the Hudson Valley gathered in the Bronx Sunday to honor the lives lost in the New Zealand mosque massacre.
The terror attack on two mosques killed 50 people and injured 50 more in the city of Christchurch.

Students and faculty from Manhattan College were joined by community members at the Riverdale Monument in the Bronx to show support for the lives lost to the attacks.
Mehnaz Afridi, a Bronxville native and director of the HGI Center at Manhattan College, says that type of intolerance crosses borders and affects everyone. She says the group wants to show that no matter where you are in the world, hate is never the answer.

Afridi says the community also gathered at the memorial a few months ago after a synagogue was attacked in Pittsburgh.
She says the community will continue to stand together.
