Ex-Mount Vernon police commissioner says investigating deputy led to firing

The recently fired police commissioner of Mount Vernon is firing back as to why he was really let go in the first place.
Shawn Harris claims former deputy commissioner Joe Spiezio, whom he fired last month, has still not returned his city-owned vehicle or ID to the department. Spiezio is an associate of Mayor Richard Thomas.
Harris says when he attempted to get the vehicle and ID back, he was fired.
Lead Democratic candidate for mayor Clyde Isley, who once served as police commissioner, is calling for yet another investigation into Thomas' administration, saying his "Trump-like, childish" approach is harming the city.
"I'm publicly asking the Westchester DA to review what has happened here in the last three days," says Isley.
Isley also claims Thomas said on multiple occasions that crime numbers had dropped under Harris' watch.
Despite Harris' claims, police say the vehicle has been returned.
