A 15-year-old New Jersey teen was rescued in Ohio after possibly being a sex trafficking victim.
Officials with the Ohio State Highway Patrol says that officers pulled over a vehicle with a young teen girl traveling with an older man. Police say that neither had identification or could speak English.
A translator was brought in and it was determined that the man, identified as Juan Carlos Pedraza-Morales, allegedly forced the girl to perform sex acts on him.
Officials say that they also determined that the girl, whose name was not released, was being taken to Chicago from New Jersey. Investigators found that the girl’s name was listed in a missing persons database.
It was also determined that Pedraza-Morales was in the United States illegally and may have been deported previously. He is being held on a Homeland Security detainer. He has been charged with “abduction violate Section A with sexual motivation.”
