Hundreds bid farewell to NYPD officer from Rockland County

Officer Patrick McGovern died this past Thursday from cancer he developed while working on the job during 9/11.

Friends, family and co-workers bid a final farewell to an NYPD officer from Rockland County.
Police lined the street in front of St. Margaret's Church in Pearl River to say goodbye to Officer Patrick McGovern. The 19-year veteran of the NYPD died this past Thursday from 9/11-related cancer.
McGovern's body was escorted by a motorcycle brigade while bagpipes from the NYPD's Emerald Society played.
McGovern's family was surrounded by NYPD officers, Pearl River Police officers, and firefighters.
Patrick McGovern leaves behind his mother Elizabeth, his brothers, and his family at the 49th Precinct in the Bronx.
