Air quality testing at an elementary school in Orange County is now complete after high levels of carbon dioxide in several classrooms allegedly sickened students.

Washingtonville Central School District officials say that weeklong, buildingwide testing at Little Britain Elementary School finished Monday.

News 12 has been told that air quality tests were performed to determine the levels of carbon dioxide in the entire school after adjustments were made to a ventilation system that services six classrooms in a new wing.

Officials say that wing is where high levels of carbon dioxide were previously detected after several students and staff members allegedly reported feeling sick for weeks.

District officials say they believe the unsafe carbon dioxide levels were caused by not enough fresh air being circulated.

Officials hope the tests will confirm the changes made were successful. There is no word on when those results will be in.
