The taste of Haitian cuisine is heating up the neighborhood and the taste buds of everyone who stops by Grandchamps.
Owner Shawn Brockman says his kitchen is bringing the community together through Haitian cuisine.

With dishes like legume, slow-cooked stewed vegetables or meat and popular black rice that's full of flavor.

Owners say no table is complete without fried plantains.
Brockman has his roots in the finance industry, leaving after he fell in love with Haitian food. He credits his passion for Haitian food to his wife.

“I grew up eating Haitian food at home, we didn't go out a lot, there were not Haitian restaurants in our neighborhood,” says Brockman.

Now, they're sharing the food with others who grew up with the cuisine, and those who are looking to try something new.

“There are very few Haitian restaurants and so to have a Grandchamps in Brooklyn, this is the perfect natural place for it to be and then to have such exquisite food available to us it in the traditional taste flavors, spices, etc. It's a gift,” says Brockman.
