Police identify ambulette driver killed in Syosset crash

Police have identified the ambulette driver killed in a Syosset crash.
Police say 74-year-old Herman Hanson was killed on the shoulder of the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway Wednesday morning.
News 12 is told Hanson was transporting a patient but pulled over and had gotten out of the ambulette to speak with a patient's relative who was following him. Officials say that's when a black Infinity sideswiped them and Hanson was killed instantly.
The owner of the First Choice Ambulette says Hanson worked for the company for more than a decade.
The driver of the Infinity stayed at the scene.
Police are now investigating whether that driver was speeding, or distracted just before the crash.
