Pleasantville Farmers Market kicks off outdoor season

The outdoor summer season of the Pleasantville Farmers Market began Saturday.
The market, located in Memorial Plaza, offers organic, farm-fresh produce and fruit.
Organizers say the market encourages a healthy community by providing people from all over the county access to wholesome, regionally-grown and produced food.
“We feel it is really important to try and help sustain the agriculture and food producing economies in the Lower Hudson Valley,” said Peter Rogovin, president of Foodchester, Inc.
The region's largest year-round market attracts an average of more than 3,000 visitors from across the region every Saturday to the village.
The market will open again Saturday, June 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
