Police: Stony Point man facing drug and DWI charges after a PIP rollover crash

A Stony Point man is now facing drug and DWI charges after a rollover crash on the Palisades Parkway in Rockland County Tuesday evening.
State police say they arrived at the crash scene near exit 11 in the town of Ramapo just after 10 p.m. and found the driver Michael Keyser, 36, covered in mud sitting in the grass next to the vehicle.  Trapped inside the car was another man, Joseph Burkert, 50, also of Stony Point. Burkert was extricated from the vehicle, and both men were transported to Nyack Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers say Keyser stated that he lost control of the vehicle because of the rain and wet highway. Troopers determined that Keyser was impaired by alcohol, and upon further investigation, troopers found cocaine in the car.
Keyser has been charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree.
