STONY POINT -

A Garnerville man has been arrested after he tried breaking into a Stony Point home, according to authorities.

Police say Jeffrey Ramirez, 20, smashed the glass of a back door, waking up the elderly man inside.

Officers showed up within two minutes of the break-in, and say they caught Ramirez in the backyard after he ran into a fence.

He's charged with burglary and criminal mischief among other charges.

Detectives are looking into whether Ramirez has been involved in other break-ins in the neighborhood
