YONKERS -

A Yonkers man will spend fifteen years behind bars in the brutal beating of his mother's boyfriend.

The Westchester County District Attorney's Office says that in March 2018, Shawn Weaver, 34 confronted the boyfriend inside the man's Yonkers apartment, claiming the man hurt his mother.

When the victim denied it, Weaver beat him with a piece of wood and a clothing iron. Authorities say Weaver also robbed the man of $350.

Weaver was found guilty of first-degree assault, first degree robbery and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies.
