Somers man arrested on child porn charges

SOMERS -

A Somers man has been arrested after police found he downloaded child pornography.

Michael Gagliardi, 51, is now facing charges after criminal investigators from the Westchester County District Attorney’s office watched his home for multiple days.

They found Gagliardi downloaded explicit images of a young girl, approximately 4 to 6 years old, back in February.
Gagliardi was arraigned in Bedford Town Court, where he posted bail. He’s due back in court later this month.

The arrest also clears up a confusing report in which the uncover investigators from the DA’s office were mistaken for fake police. In a statement, the DA’s office says, “Concerns circulated in Somers after a homeowner reported incorrectly to NY State Police that two men, “posing as police officers,” were seen in the area Monday, July 8, 2019. Those unidentified men with badges were sworn investigators from the DA’s office working on this case.”
