Officials say a truck struck an overpass on the southbound Thruway Tuesday afternoon, causing lane closures and delays.

According to state police, a tractor-trailer carrying machinery and at least one barrel of oil hit the Hungry Hollow Road overpass in Chestnut Ridge between exits 14B and 14A just after 12:30 p.m.

The overpass has been closed until officials can inspect it.

This isn't the first time a big rig has hit that specific overpass.  A similar accident in 2017 caused the Hungry Hollow Road bridge to be closed for months.
