West Point Military Academy took on two separate incidents Friday morning involving a vehicle that was stolen from the base and a bomb threat that turned out to be a hoax.
The academy says the bomb threat was anonymously phoned in. The Department of Emergency Services says it investigated the threat, which turned out to be not credible.
At the same time, a West Point government vehicle was stolen from the base and then recovered on Broadway in Newburgh.
According to the academy, Newburgh police are “conducting an investigation and working with West Point authorities.” No other information was released.
Additional security measures have been put in place.
