Police: Stabbing, shooting in Nyack may be related

Posted: Updated:

Brutal acts of violence have residents in Nyack reeling, and police investigating to determine whether the incidents are connected.

Orangetown police responded to the Taco Lounge just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday to find one man had been stabbed in the stomach and another had been physically assaulted, the authorities say. Police say the victims' injuries were non-life threatening.

Shortly after, police responded a few blocks away to the area of Artopee Way for report of shots fired.

When they arrived, they found that three men had been shot -- one of them in the abdomen, one in the back, the third in the face. All three men are expected to be OK.

Detectives say they believe the incidents are connected. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call police.
