Pilot program in White Plains schools to target vape users

Officials in the White Plains School District have started a pilot program to install vape detectors in some bathrooms.
It works like a smoke detector and will allow school officials to take action if anyone is caught vaping.
The pilot program comes after the state Health Department revealed that 40% of seniors and 27% of all high school students in the state use e-cigarettes.
School leaders say they support a ban on all vaping products because they don't believe it’s safe for students or the community at large.
Several others school districts in the Hudson Valley also have the pilot program in place.
