The Long Island plastic surgeon accused of amassing an arsenal of illegal weapons is seeking to move his trial out of Westchester.
Defense attorney Paul Gentile says his client, Matthew Bonnano, can't get a fair trial in the county and is pushing to have it moved to the Bronx.
Bonnano was charged with 53 counts for criminal possession of weapons last month. He was arrested after allegedly making a comment that he wanted to kill his ex-wife.
In Tuesday’s pretrial hearing, Gentile told the judge that repeated statements by the District Attorney’s Office and Tuckahoe police have painted Bonnano as guilty before the trial has even begun.
He included statements such as “lives were saved” and that his “arsenal of weapons posed a threat.”

Gentile also said that authorities found the weapons in his car and home illegally.
Prosecutors deny Gentile’s claims and say they are ready to go to trial. If the case is not moved to the Bronx, the next court date would be on Dec. 10.
