Archbishop Stepinac and Iona Prep dominate in easy gridiron wins

It was a big weekend for high school football in the Hudson Valley.
Powerhouse Archbishop Stepinac didn’t take long to jump on St. Anthony's. On the Crusaders’ first offensive play, Joey Carino started a trick play by throwing back to Kevin McKenna, who then tossed a bomb to a wide open Matt Halas and just like that it was 7-0. Touchdowns by Kyle Benjamin, Jayden Jenkins and McKenna gave Stepinac a 35-7 lead at halftime, and they cruised to a 42-7 win.
Iona Prep stayed undefeated by dominating Monsignor Farrell from Staten Island. Touchdowns from Avery Turton, Frankie McFadden, and  Kevin Franceschini helped Prep coast to a 49-20 win and improve to 5-0.
