A beloved northern Westchester grocery store will soon have a change in ownership.
The owner of Turco’s in Yorktown says that after 20 years of working 17-hour days, seven days a week, he is ready to retire.
"I don't want to say it, but I'm going to be 73 next week, and it's time. I don't want to be working until I’m 80 or 90,” says Preston Turco, owner of Turco's.

Turco has sold his 38,000-square-foot store to a good friend who operates an Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace and had been looking to get into the Westchester market.
"These people do a similar job that I’m doing on a bigger scale,” says Turco. “They're very food-oriented. They're really the real McCoy of today's supermarket.”

Turco's has about 130 employees working at the Yorktown store. The new owners say they will all continue to work at Uncle Giuseppe's
The new owners also say they plan on doing a complete renovation and expansion of the grocery store next year.
Turco's will become Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace on Oct. 21.
