Bedford parents protest possible school closings

Concerned parents in Bedford packed a public school board meeting on Wednesday to voice their concerns about possible school closings.

According to Bedford officials, there has been a decline in enrollment since 2016.

A recent study predicted the number of students in grade school could drop by over 200 in the coming years.

"It turns out we're not declining as bad as predicted or as bad as we were led to believe...and so enrollment...Kindergarten enrollment increased by 28 kids this year,” says Nicole Shaffer of Pound Ridge.

The superintendent previously told News 12 that a decision hadn’t been made as of yet.
