A house fire in Elmont Wednesday injured three people and claimed the lives of two dogs.

The fire broke out on Oakley Avenue in the afternoon and spread to another home.

The Nassau Fire Marshal's office says two residents and a firefighter were treated for minor injuries and smoke inhalation.

There's no word on what sparked the fire.
