New Rochelle Schools delays discussing probe into dismissed football coach

The New Rochelle School Board isn't ready to announce its decision regarding the investigation into the dismissal of the high school's football team coach.
Coach Louis DiRienzo, the head coach of the New Rochelle High School football team, hasn't been with the team for their last three games, including the team's most recent win in the state championship.
Parents at the School Board meeting Tuesday say they are frustrated, but aren't surprised by the delay.
As News 12 reported, "Coach D" was told he wasn't allowed to coach or teach on Nov. 13 after Superintendent Dr. Laura Feijóo announced he violated a school policy.
DiRienzo's family speculated his dismissal stemmed from helping a distressed student, who is also a relative, leave school campus without going through proper channels.
News 12 learned last week from the Yonkers Police Department that a student accused Coach D of unlawful contact back in the 1980s.
The New Rochelle school district has not confirmed if the incidents are related or what policy the coach violated.
Coach D's reassignment has caused an uproar in the city, with people holding protests and calling in Feijóo to resign.
