Groundbreaking began Wednesday for a new set of luxury apartment buildings in White Plains.
The two vacant lots along Hale and Maple avenues will be home to "The Duet," a pair of luxury multifamily apartment rentals.
The two buildings will sit on 91-114 Hale Ave.
The East lot will stand at about seven stories high, while the West will be eight and feature 127 units altogether.
The units will also include double vanities, walk-in closets, along with a fitness and business center.
According to one of the developers, the rent for the units could range anywhere between $2,500 to about $3,600 per month.
Within the 127 units available, 13 will be affordable housing, which is required by the city. The rent for those units is set between $1,600 to $2,100 per month, depending if it's a studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartment.
Mayor Thomas Roach said the luxury apartment duo will add to the revitalization of the city.
The complex will provide its residents with indoor, climate-controlled parking.
The roughly $50 million project is set to begin in January and expected to be completed within the next couple years.
