State trooper injured when vehicle is rear-ended on GSP

A New Jersey state trooper was injured Saturday night when his vehicle was rear-ended on the Garden State Parkway in Kenilworth, police say.
State police say the crash happened on the northbound side of the highway around 10:35 p.m. in the area of mile marker 139.
The trooper was trying to help out a disabled vehicle that was stopped in the left lane. His vehicle was parked behind the disabled car with the emergency lights flashing when he was rear-ended by an Audi A6. The trooper was still inside the vehicle at the time.
The trooper was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was released. The car was towed from the scene.
No one else was hurt.
Police said the driver, Frantz Petit, of Yonkers, New York, was given a summons for careless driving.
