Cuomo administration official charged with assault, endangering welfare of child

Posted: Updated:

An official in Gov. Andrew Cuomo's administration is facing charges after an incident in her New Rochelle home.

Melissa Quesada, the state director of Latino affairs, was arrested in November, according to a complaint filed by the New Rochelle Police Department.

She allegedly left her infant daughter in a baby tub alone and assaulted her partner, the father of the child.

The 41-year-old Quesada was charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.

She is due back in New Rochelle City Court next month.

News 12 reached out to the governor's office for comment. His press secretary said, “We're reserving action, while the matter is pending."
