Food Network nationally recognizes Mexicali Blue for high-ranked burrito

A Wappingers Falls restaurant received recognition from the Food Network for a dish that customers travel far to try.
"We're over-enthused about keeping up with production now. It's just taken us to another level. We've been getting customers that are traveling over an hour to come to us to see us for this burrito,” says owner Sal Nicolosi.
News 12 is told the Food Network specifically chose the restaurant’s braised-short rib burrito because the meat is butchered in house and cooked in Modelo Negra beer with other herbs and spices for up to seven hours.
Customers say the meal surely satisfies their stomachs and taste buds.
"There's a lot of food. It's different. It's very well made,” says couple Victor and Linda Gaines. "They give you so much food and it's really tasty."
Mexicali Blue was listed as one of 30 restaurants in the United States for ‘Best Burritos in the United States.’ The well-known Food Network channel described the burrito as a bite to remember.
According to Food Network, “Accompanying the meat are rice, beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, a special coleslaw and an exclusive hot sauce that lends the dish a unique flavor. Everything is made fresh and in-house, for a burrito that's truly is a bite to remember.”
