The MTA released a new report that shows January was the best month for on-time subway performances in seven years.

The report includes subways, Metro-North and the Long Island Rail Road. Ridership was also up in January.

The MTA also says major incidents that cause disruptions are down to the lowest monthly figure since it started keeping records.

January numbers also showed a trend of faster trip times. In fact, rush hour train trips were faster this January than last year on nearly every line in the system.
