The Department of Environmental Protection says they finished a much-needed sewer upgrade on 9 Street in Gowanus and Carroll Gardens.
In the past, the street was known to drown in floods, affecting traffic and local businesses. The department says the repairs will improve drainage and reduce flooding.
The project cost $27 million and was completed a year ahead of schedule.
