A Rye family is fighting to get the money they spent on new tires refunded but says the company they hold responsible isn't budging.
Vanessa Lagana got two flat tires and damage to a rim as she headed to work in September.
Vanessa Lagana says her troubles started after driving on Milton Road in Rye. At the time, the road was being repaved, leaving the road bumpy.
Her mother, Valerie Lagana, had the car towed and paid nearly $1,000 in repairs. She now wants her money back.
Valerie Lagana was directed to Con Edison, which was repaving the road, but the company denied her claim the same day it was filed before she could submit evidence. She says her evidence included a police report that said, "there are multiple places on the road where the tires could have popped."
Valerie Lagana has a pile of paperwork that documents her correspondence with Con Edison over the past several months. She says she is not giving up until she is reimbursed.
News 12 contacted Con Edison and a spokeswoman said the company will now look into new evidence in this case. The spokeswoman said the company looks to keep work sites safe for employees and the public.
