6ds agoHigh school basketball quarterfinals were in full swing this weekend.
A capacity crowd was on hand in Mount Vernon to watch the Tigers take on their rivals from White Plains. The Knights led by as much as 11 in the third quarter, but
Orlando Dawkins and Irvin Patrick fired up a comeback win for the Tigers. Irvin led all scorers with 21 as Mount Vernon is headed back to the semifinals winning 66-56.
In Suffern, the top-seeded Mounties welcomed in county rival Spring Valley. Clev Lubin had 18 points in the first half and 25 total as Suffern punched its ticket to the County Center, winning 60-37.
And it was Westchester vs. Rockland as New Rochelle took on North Rockland. The Huguenots were running on all cylinders, and Jayson McGee finished with 17 as
New Rochelle is headed to the semifinals winning 66-38.
