A confirmed case of coronavirus has prompted a partial quarantine of the Westchester Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Mount Vernon.

The administration director of the center confirmed the case and said they are now quarantining the north side of building for safety precautions.  

The center treats patients suffering from trauma, disease, stroke, surgery or chronic condition, and when the person’s mobility or function is impaired. Officials say a number of patients are immunocompromised.

News 12 has been told by employees at the center, who want to remain anonymous, that there's been no gloves or masks for either the workers or the patients, and that they haven't taken any precautions. They also said it took over a week to receive results of the coronavirus test.

The patient that prompted the quarantine was sent to the hospital after being confirmed with having the virus. They say the facility did one additional test after this incident, which came back negative.
