A New Rochelle restaurant refused to refund a bridal shower until News 12’s Tara Rosenblum got involved.
Debbie Santiago told News 12 she’d been planning her daughter's bridal shower at Juliano’s in New Rochelle way before the current pandemic.
However, once the coronavirus cases increased drastically, the family decided to cancel the long-awaited event in the city considered to be the epicenter of Westchester County’s outbreak.
“We have so many guests that are over the age of 60, you know, they're scared,” says daughter Jillian.
Unfortunately, the restaurant refused to refund their $1,300 deposit, instead offering to reschedule their big day from June to this fall.
Santiago shared her disbelief, saying in part, “A situation like this, don't make it worse. You know, just do the right thing.”
Luckily, after a relative recommended the young bride and her mother ‘Turn to Tara’, an email from Juliano’s arrived promising a full refund.
“I couldn't believe how fast it happened,” shared the bride-to-be.
Now that they’re no longer in a financial burden, the couple can focus on each other and planning a new date for the bridal shower.
