Several employees who work at the Elizabeth Seton Children's Center in Yonkers have tested positive for coronavirus, the center says.
One of the three employees is a direct caregiver. Officials say that employee was a certified nursing assistant who had come into contact with 12 of their children on March 10, 24 hours before they started to show symptoms of the virus.
The caregiver and the other two employees have not been on the premises since March 10, and the center says children who came into contact with the health care worker have also been tested.
The center says since early March, it has put strict precautions in place to prevent the spread of the virus among their children. The precautions include a no visit policy, non-essential staff working from home and social distancing.
The center tells News 12 none of the children who came into contact with the nursing assistant have shown signs or symptoms of coronavirus.
